Review: Nicola Roberts - Lucky Day (single)

In a just few months Nicola Roberts has become one of the favorites of BePop, the reason: she’s offering something fresh to the pop world.

While critics spoke well of her first single Beat of my Drum, the public did not get it the way we expected. With the second single Lucky Day makes a safer move into a more radio-friendly and fresh sound with simple and lovely lyrics. The track was produced by Dragonette and shows the vocal power of Nicola throughout the song.

The Lucky Day video was filmed in New York and directed by Stephen Agnes, the video is pretty simple but entertaining between shots of color, dance and funny faces that delivers Nicola during the clip. While many have criticized her look in the video, I must say she looks great.

 

The single will be officially launched on September 18, a week before the release of her album Cinderella's Eyes that can easily become one of the best pop records this year.
