Review: FEMME FATALE - Britney Spears

Finally I decided to do my review of the album FEMME FATALE  by Britney Spears, this was leaked last week, but I decided  take my time to listen for some days  to give an opinion more consistent.

As usual many of the songs I thought would be my favorites were not, some songs that I thought was just ok, were amazing,  but I am in a personal position  in which I cannot say if this work is superior or not to Blackout.

The important thing about Blackout, which is the best  Britney album (for me and for some), is an experimental album, testing different  sounds and musical styles, from pure pop to euro pop, to  hip-hop and some electro sound. FEMME FATALE is just and experimental and electronic dance album.

FEMME FATALE is very good from start to finish, there is no bad songs on it.  You can find extremely danceable songs  like the singles Hold it Against Me and Till The World Ends  and other songs like I Wanna Go, Trouble for Me and Beautiful (Drop Dead), some songs sounds to her Britney-Pop-style with Seal  it with a Kiss and Gasoline. A very experimental side on songs like How I Roll, with a very European sound that is not something that  you hear on the radio and it still sounds great. The Big Fat  Bass is very similar to Black Eyed Peas (maybe the fact that  will.i.am is involved), and although at the beginning is not that good, turns out to be a sticky-song and Trip to your Heart with a sound  very different and experimental of rest of the album. There’s no ballads, but it has the spectacular Inside Out and the AMAZING Criminal.

If I could choose my favorite song would be Criminal, although this song is not a dance/pop songs like the rest of the album, it not feel out of place, and  the lyrics - at times a little ridiculous- and a sound like Love Profusion by Madonna, with a flute and guitar leave us  hear her sweet voice without all the arrangements and its one of the best Britney moments to close the album.

The great thing about Britney is that she is being herself, and the producers knew what they wanted: Make a great dance album to all the B-fans. A great step in Britney's career and one of her best work to date.

  1. I agree, Criminal is such a great song but I just can't stand the flute in the beginning. For me the best song is Inside Out.
    Great post by the way
