Interview with Pierre Lewis

To begin, Who is Pierre Lewis?
I'm a artist and I personify this in many ways. I'm a thinker, I've always analised life and had a creative ability to translate my own meaning. By nature I'm a lover, i've always had the compasion to try understand why rather than disassociate my self from things. 


How you define the sound of your music?
Its difficult to deny I'm Pop, and though its really been a difficult last few years for the genre, I think the substance behind the art form has evolved from the manufactured, with a new species of artistS wearing their heart on their sleeves and grinding like old skool hiphop hustlers to give Pop the renaissance it deserves.


With so many pop artists in the market, how do you do to make your music stand out from the others?
I think its getting to the point where people try to stand out too much. Theres some great unquie avant garde artists, but then theres a string of copycats.. i think what sets me apart is I've learnt to be 'me'.. not to feel i have to conform.. because if theres one rule in art.. its that there is no rules!

Can you say your music and lyrics reflect what you are living in this moment?
Yes and no, sometimes i write based on a memory or momment, but then also sometimes I write fictionally, but what ever i write about, it always has to be real to me, so based on my experiances or knowledge.

Tell us about "Out of my mind"?
Its produced my TrapTeam who are signed with TPain in the US, i got send the track and i just felt it straight away.. in terms of the storyline its about someone your love sending you mad with having moved on.




What type of music or artists have influenced on your sound and music?
MJ, Elvis, Whitney, luther vandross, boy ii men.. and many more.. 

Which song or album you've been listening in the last couple of days?
I've actually been randomly listening to gyspy kings.. it always reminds me of goodtimes.. so i put that on as inspiration or simply to pick myself up.


Do you know something about Colombian music or artists?
I was in Colombia about 7 years ago when i was younger as part of a cruise holiday, it really struck me as a pasionate and musical place.. Music really is intwined with culture and from what i gather, with Colombia thats very true. 


What's next for Pierre Lewis
Writing and recording my new album, which i'm taking a little time with but i wanna get it perfect, then gigging here in the UK. maybe a trip over to the US. It would be amazing to fly over and play in Colombia in the near future.. hopefully towards the end of 2012 to 2013 I'll look to announce a world tour and if i do, I hope Colombia is on the top of the list.
